EOTD: Neutral Burgndy-ish Purple

Here's a quick eye look using my Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume 2.

I was supposed to call this EOTD as "Neutral Purple" only, but it seems to me that the eye look have a hint of burgundy in it. So yeah. :)

Urban Decay: The Black Palette

Products with nice packaging always gets my attention. I sometimes end up getting stuff that I don't even know if I will ever use. But anyway, the same thing with this Urban Decay: The Black Palette. I got it because of the packaging. How it's all black, dark and edgy looking. I was skeptical before I purchased this. I thought I won't be able to use this palette that much because I usually go for neutral colors when it comes to eyeshadow. But then, I reasoned out to myself that I can use this too. Like if I go to concerts, and other events. :D So I went ahead and got it.

Urban Decay Lipstick: Gash and Voodoo

I love red lipstick! I actually prefer it than wearing nude or neutral colors. I feel like a red lip instantly brightens up my face.

Today I'll share two lipsticks I own from the brand Urban Decay.  I have them in the shade Voodoo and Gash.

EOTD: Smokey Blue

Hi everyone! I mentioned before, I am not really a makeup expert but I'm learning. A few days ago, I went and gathered my blue eyeshadows and decided to do a smokey blue look. I did a few attempts before but I never uploaded them because I always end up with a messy and fugly result. But with my recent experiment, I think I like how it turned out.

I'm hoping it's good enough to share. lol. I know it's not the best but I'm quite happy with the result. So, here it is!

What's in my Make up bag?

Hi everyone! I just thought I'd share what's inside my kit. I don't really carry so much. Just a few basic things I use from day to day. My lip products and blush changes daily depending on what I feel like wearing. :)

My makeup bag! I got it from Sanrio Puroland when I visited Japan. So cute. :)

Currently what's inside

What's inside:

1.) Shiseido lash curler
2.) Ecotools brush
3.) Nars blush in Orgasm
4.) Sephora lip liner (Natural, I think)
5.) Nars lipgloss in Pillow Talk
6.) Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Zero
7.) Lolita perfume sample
8.) Softlips cherry
9.) Mac Studio Fix NC40
10.) hair pins
11.) black rubbers

I always make sure I carry some hair pins and black rubbers with me. Because there are days when my hair just won't cooperate so I just tie it or something. :) So yeah, that's all. Hope you enjoyed!

Mini Haul

Hi everyone! This is just going to be a quick post on the stuff I got starting from Christmas and items I just bought recently. I decided that I'll just do a separate post for my Japan haul, which I will be posting soon.. Anyways, here's my mini haul!

Starting with the Christmas goody! I didn't really receive so much beauty stuff last Christmas, I only got one and its this Palladio mineral loose powder. As you can see, the seal is still intact. I haven't used it yet so I can't really tell my initial impression about it. But I am very excited to try it out.

The other two things I got are from Urban Decay. The NYC Book of Shadows and The Black Palette! I know, the packaging is cute, definitely one of the reason why I was convinced to get these two. I wanted to get the Naked Palette as well, but decided against it. Just because I've already got the Too Faced Natural Neutral Palette, and thought that they might just be the same. But anyways, so far I am loving the NYC palette. Love the color payoff. I have used it a couple of times. And I am especially loving the color SMOG. The Black Palette, I haven't used that much yet. IDK why I even bought it (Yes! Because of the packaging and the name!) I rarely wear eyeshadow and if I do, I usually just stay on the neutral natural look. But I thought someday I could use this, when I attend concerts and stuff. Yeah maybe. Hopefully that will be soon! I did swatch it though, and I think it's very pigmented and the colors are nice for a smokey effect.

So that's my mini haul. Hopefully, I can do more in depth review or maybe tutorials with these items soon.

Have a great weekend!

haul from a short trip

Hi Everyone! I am back. I went to Macau last week with my family. I wasn't really expecting much from Macau, I thought it was just like Hong Kong but I was just wrong. It was so beautiful and clean. We stayed at the Venetian and the rooms were just awesome. It was so relaxing. I miss my bed there already. And I want to go back soon. Anyway after the city tour, we still had like two days to do whatever or go wherever we wanted to. We went to Senado Square and there were a lot of shops! I can remember this store called "BONJOUR" that sells a lot of imported and local beauty products. And I think there was also "Sasa" (if I'm not mistaken) that sells a lot of beauty stuff. I was overwhelmed. Too overwhelmed that I didn't even get to buy stuff for myself. I was too busy buying pasalubongs (gifts) and then I realized, why the hell haven't I bought anything for myself yet. Lol. So yeah, I also love the Venetian Hotel because I can go shopping anytime. I just take the elevator from our room and there I am at the Grand Canal Shoppes & the Four Seasons Shoppes! Seriously, there were just a LOT of shops in there. I don't think 3 days is enough to go all through those shops. Unfortunately, I didn't get to buy any clothes. I don't know why, I guess I was too lazy to fit and try them on because I was wearing a lot. The weather dropped to 4ºC and I had to wear a jacket, scarf, etc to keep me warm.

But nonethless, I'm still happy with my new purchases. =)

Some none makeup/skincare stuff that I got:
I've been looking for a nice red and grey bag for so long. But still, I didn't find anything that I liked during my trip. So instead, I got the small black satchel bag and a big blue/brown stripe bag.. I also have been meaning to get myself a black watch, so glad that I waited for this trip to get one. I love it!... And the shoes! I just love these shoes. They are so comfy and the zebra print inside is just so cute! =)

And now for the makeup goodies that I got:

Clinique Superfit in Cream Beige. I've been hearing a lot of good stuff about this and I love that it's oil free. I only have one liquid foundation and I thought I'd try this one out.

Urban Decay Lipstick in Voodoo. I was surprised to see a UD rack at the Duty Free shop inside The Venetian. I got so excited! But they really didn't have a lot. They only had one palette available.. So I thought I'd just get another lippie cos I loved my UD lipstick in Gash.

And lastly, I got two of YSL ROUGE VOLUPTÉ Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick SPF 15 in #3 (Beige Ultimate) and #21 (Vibrant Brown). So far I'm loving these, I'll post more about these soon. =)

So that's it. I will be posting reviews/swatches soon. Thanks for reading! =)

My Attempt: Smokey Concert Look

Okay, so I went to a concert last Saturday. It's a heavy metal concert so I thought I'd do a bit of a dark look. I have never worn a smokey look out of the house before so I was excited because it was my chance to wear one. So yep, I came up with this look. I think it's a bit neutral with a dark edgy feel to it. Simple and easy. =)

Sorry if the images are not that clear, I was using my cellphone as I was charging my digicam the time I finished my makeup. And I just completely forgot about taking a closer shot when I was out because of my excitement. lol.

How To

With a clean and moisturized face and eyes, I applied my Urban Decay Primer Potion on my lids to help make the eyeshadow last and give a better color payoff.

1.) Using my ELF eyeshadow brush, I applied NYX eyeshadow in Luster (neutral silvery taupe color) on about 3/4 of my lid starting from the inner corner.

2.) Using my ELF blending blush, I applied NYX eyeshadow in matte black and applied this on the outer corner of my lid, gently blending it in.

3.) Using my ELF Studio crease brush, I applied a more concentrated color of black on the outer corner to give more depth.

4.) I applied Heaven (matte cream color) from my Too Faced Neutral Palette as a highlight.

5.) I applied MAC fluidline in blacktrack on my upper and lower lashline instead of my regular everyday pencil eyeliner because this stays put longer and better.
6.) And for my lashes, I applied Covergirl Lashblast in Very Black on both my upper and lower lashes.

7.) I had neutral lips and I used Loreal's lip liner in neutral and topped it with Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush gloss in Slice of Heaven.

And the finished look

So there you go. I think it turned out well. And I also liked all the products I used, they stayed on pretty well for more than 8 hours plus all the sweat from the jumping and screaming during the show. lol. The concert was awesome! I had a great time!

So that's it. Thanks for reading! =)

Review: Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol 2

I've been wanting to get an Urban Decay palette for so looong. I know their palettes are all so bright and colorful (and I wear more neutral) but I just love their cute packaging... I originally wanted to get the Ammo palette, but I've been reading reviews of how glittery it is. So I stayed away from it. But then, Urban Decay came out with it's second volume of Book of Shadows. And I read reviews that the palette is not as glittery as the previous ones and I also noticed at that it came with a lot of neutral colors, too. So yep, I went ahead and got it. =)

Here are pics and swatches:

The swatches:

And it came with a primer potion and 2 24/7 eye pencils:

I'm not disappointed, the reviews were right. This palette is non glitter-fest. The only glittery shade would be the "Midnight Cowboy Rides Again". The rest are just shimmery. Except for "Perversion" which is matte.

Hmmm I love this palette, but I noticed that some colors in this palette are not as vibrant and as pigmented as I expected. My Too Faced Neutral Natural Eyeshadow Palette's pigmentation was really awesome. So I was expecting the same from this palette... I also didn't like the shade "Perversion" (matte black) that much. The texture was just blah, I liked my NYX matte black better... IDK why, but when I applied the color on my lids I was using my Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I haven't tried it with UD's primer potion, yet. Maybe it would be so much better with it... But still, I love this palette. I love the colors. I used to stay away from bright colors but I've been experimenting with this palette lately and I'm loving the results. Been doing subtle smokey eyes, neutrals with a hint of bright color, etc.. It's great!

Rating: Good Kitty!

My Attempt: Neutral Taupe Eyes

One of the reason behind this blog is for me to experiment and explore along with other makeup newbies and to be able to learn from others. So please forgive me if it's not that good, as I am new with makeup... The thing is, I don't even put eyeshadows on a daily basis. But I started to love experimenting and playing with the colors. And just a few days ago, I finally got some of the stuff I've been lemming for sooo long! I wanted to do a haul post about them but I got lazy lol. Maybe sometime soon, or I could just do a review and swatch them... Anyways, I got so excited to try them out, and this is one of the looks I was able to put together.

Here it is! It's very simple. But I really liked how it looked on me.

To create the look

1.) Using my ELF eyeshadow brush. I took the color Mushroom (shimmery taupey-gunmetal) from the Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol 2 and applied it on around about 3/4 area of my lid.

2.) Using my ELF Studio contour brush. I got the nice shimmery brown taupe (with a hint of plum color) from Loreal's Hip Duo in Sassy. I applied this color on my crease area gently blending it with the Mushroom e/s.

3.) Because most of the colors I have used are shimmery, I got the color Sexpresso (matte deep brown) from the Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Eyeshadow. And applied it on the outer crease area of my lid using my Essence of Beauty contour brush.
4.) Taking the natural beige color ( from the Loreal Hip Duo in Shady) that matches my skin, I applied and blended the color on the upper area of my crease to smoothen the harsh edges.

5.) For my brow bone area, I used my ELF eyeshadow brush and I applied the color Heaven (a matte ivory) from the Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Eyeshadow Palette.

5.) I applied my black Maybelline Smooth & Vivid eyeliner on my upper and lower lashline. I curled my lashes and applied VMV Hypoallergenics Ooh-la-lash Mascara in black.

I don't know if I did it right. Sometimes I get so frustrated trying to blend the colors because sometimes it would end up looking like mud... But I just got my ELF blending brush and I think it helps cos it seems like somehow the colors are blended better than before.

Anyway before I end this post, I have one question for you all. Is it really like "a must" to apply some highlight on the inner corner of your eyes? I've trying to do it but it just looks weird on me. I don't know why. Maybe I'm just not doing it right.

So that's it! Hope you enjoyed this post =)

Lemming For: Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol. II

I want this so badly! The colors are so pretty and I heard that this palette is not as glittery as other Urban Decay palettes (I think "Midnight Cowboy Rides Again" is the only eyeshadow in this palette that is glittery). Glitter - the reason why I had stayed away from previous Urban Decay palettes. Although, I was dying to get the Ammo and first BOS, I still hesitated and stopped myself because I kept thinking of how much glitter is in there... So yep, Book of Shadows 2 sounds perfect for me. Plus it has two 24/7 travel size eye pencil and a mini prime potion... And I'm a real sucker for cute packaging, so yes! Love <3 style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 250px; height: 250px;" src="http://i679.photobucket.com/albums/vv152/catmare09/blog/327.jpg" alt="" border="0">
